2nd Overall Texas Mountain Bike Racing Spring Series - Cat 3
What an awesome 2011 mountain bike racing season. I managed to attend all 8 races throughout the spring series. A few scrapes and cuts, no major mechanicals, no dnf's, seven top 5 finish's, four podiums, and...my first FIRST PLACE! I've been officially kicked out of Cat 3. Now on to racing with the bigger boys of Cat 2. Looking forward to training for the longer distances and becoming a better overall cyclist.

1st Place at Flat Rock!!!
I Finally got a win this past weekend out in Comfort Tx. It was the 2nd race of the 2011 Texas State Mountain Bike Spring Series. On this race I was able to get out front from the start and maintain the lead for the majority of the race. I was passed briefly on one of the turns, but I almost welcomed it as I was ready to follow for a bit. After remaining on the back wheel of 1st plast for a few minutes I decided to retake the lead. From there, I hit the jets and fortunately was able to get enough of a lead to win the race, inspite of a short fall on one of the step downs which resulted in a few scrapes and cuts to my arms and hands. Pics of race coming soon...

Conquer The Coast - 2010
The coast of Corpus Christi Tx was conquered this past weekend - My computer clocked just over 68 miles and 4hrs 17minutes in the saddle. With a few water breaks and a ferry hop it was 4hrs 58 minutes total to get through the finish line. Great ride, can't wait for next year. Here's a map of the route and quick pic before the start.
Ride starts underneath Harbor Bridge in Corpus Christi, then goes over Harbor bridge to Ingleside, then into Aransas Pass. Then a ferry hop to Port Aransas and ride through Padre Island. Then up and over the JFK Bridge to Ennis Joslin Road, then Ocean Drive and Shoreline, and back to original starting area.
